Rainy drive

I remember a story my Grandfather James told me one time when I visited him during summer break about 20 years ago. He told me the story of how he had to learn how to drive through a thunderstorm in an 18 wheeler.

"Man I remember it like it was yesterday. I had just started driving truck and I had a load I had to get to New Jersey. The drive there was beautiful. Sun was out, it wasn't to hot, it was just right. But on the way back to Philly, the sky got so gray and you could tell that it was about to open up ineminute now. I was trying to book it home but midway through the drive, the bottom just fell out of the sky and it was like BOOM. I was so scared cause I just started the job and I hate driving in the rain. The further I got down the road, the harder the rain came. I had to keep telling myself to 'just keep driving, it's gonna slack up soon'. The more I drove, the harder that rain came down, but I never pulled over because I knew that if I kept driving, it would be sunny on the other side. Some of that drive, the rain did slack up, but then it would storm again. But i never stopped, I kept driving. Then all of a sudden, the rain dwindled, and the sun was out again. All I had to do was keep driving."

Every time I think of my Grandfather, I think about this story and it makes me smile. It just helps me to remember that regardless of how many storms that enter my life; If i just keep going, the sun will eventually shine through. If I don't get scared and pull over, I can get to my destination. So, I want to encourage you all as well. If your reading this and you are going through a storm in your life....Keep moving. The sun is on the other side. There are gonna be times when the rain is gonna fall so heavy that you can't see what's in front of you. But don't give up. Keep your faith, pray and keep going.

During your "stormy" period....you may lose some things (material things, relationships..hell your sanity) but don't panic, stay the course and keep going. Always remember that God has you and he will never put more on you than you can bear. Keep driving through the storm babygirl, your sunshine is on the other side.

Peace and Blessings,
