How Fall says "Hello" in the South

It's Fall y'all.....so I guess you know what that means????

NOTHING....it means absolutley nothing. The temperture is going to be close to 90 degrees today. See, here in the Lowcountry, Fall just means that Summer is gonna show her entire behind off until Christmas and then, if she's in a good mood, will let Fall come out and play for a couple of days. Winter, doesn't stand a chance. Summer may let her say "Hi" in Feburary, but trust me, Summer will return in rare form. Summer doesn't end because it's Fall's birthday. It's still bikini season until Christmas Eve....LOL.

Nevertheless, regardless of the weather, Fall is my favorite season. I love to see the changing of the tree leaves as they go from a vibrant green to a bold orange, yellow, red and brown. I love the idea of pumpkins, scary movies, and "cold" weather. Fall brings in a new sense of being for me. It's when I start thinking about my goals for next year, my Christmas list, and how I can start to reinvent myself for the upcoming year. So I have created 5 selfcare rituals that will help me get into the spirit of a new season and a new beginning.

1. CREATE A VISION BOARD

2019 is right around the corner and if you don't have your plans in place for the upcoming year, you are doing yourself a disservice. I do one of these every year for the last 5 years. It keeps me focus on my goals and let's me see what I have accomplished and what I have to keep working on. Making a vision board is a wonderful way to bring clarity to that general desire and turn it into an achievable goal. No matter what happens during your day, your vision board is a constant reminder of where you intend to be.

2. PURGE

Clutter be gone

This is what I call the Detox Phase. When I purge, I purge everything, from my phone (unused apps, pictures, contacts, ect.) to my social media pages. If it is not serving a purpose for me, I get rid of it. I get rid of anything that means me no good. Some of my clothes, I donate. Clothes with holes in them i just toss in the trash. I get rid of everything negative and make room for the positive that will enter in my life.

3. START YOUR CHRISTMAS PLANNING

It's the most wonderful time of the year

Christmas is 100 days away and it will be here in the blank of an eye. Now is the best time to get your plan in place for the holidays. Who will you be getting gifts for? How much money do you plan to spend? Whose hosting the dinner this year? Today is a good day to start thinking about these things. Planning will get you in the mood for the holidays and it may even lift your spirits a little.

4. MAKE A PHYSICAL CHANGE

This hair color tho

I love changing my hair during the Fall. I will either cut it off, weave it up or buy a new colored wig. It makes me feel like a new person. Sometimes, I will also start a new health care regiment. I start eating better, drinking more water, exercising, etc. I also like trying out new makeup looks. The possibilities are endless. When you are looking good, you start feeling good. I love that "new season, new me" kinda vibe.

5. GET YOURSELF A NEW PLANNER

THE HAPPY PLANNER

Now is the best time to start writing out your goals and putting some action to that vision plan. I always give myself a time frame to have my tasks completed and that is where my planner comes in handy. I am a "paper and pencil" kinda girl. I have to write them down and be able to see them. I rarely use my google calender, but that's me. Do what works for you. Now, everything you want to accomplish for 2019 should be in your calender. The things you want to do and when you want them completed.

So there you have it. My Fall Self-Care rituals. Self Care ideas will keep you energized, happy and healthy. Enjoy and let me know how it goes or if you have anything you would like to add to this list, put it in the comments below.

Peace and Blessing
